Why We Do It

We exist to enable the dementia community and people with similar barriers to feel the freedom and joy through meeting new people, exploring new experiences and spending quality time with the people you love through travel.

We understand the challenges you or your loved may face with dementia and recognise the similarities encountered by others.

Our aim is to create a new “visible” tourism market that is inclusive, provides choice, and instills confidence, not just for the dementia community, but for other people living with disabilities, chronic illnesses and other life baggage.

How We Do it

Sargent Group Consulting Travel Advice

With our expert support, guidance and experience, we’ll work with you to identify a practical, solution-driven approach tailored to you, enabling you to choose how you want to overcome any barriers and empowering you to take the next steps to travel.

Our unique combination of understanding the experiences of people with dementia and Alzhiemer’s; how these experiences can affect appetite for risk; our knowledge of the unique knowledge of dementia travel; and our solution-based approach in supporting people living with dementia, their families and friends and people with other hidden disabilities means we can enable and empower you to discover your next trip.

What We Do

Together we will discuss; which travel options you are interested in, explore any concerns you may have, and identify tailored solutions to enable you to select your perfect travel option and raise your specific requirements with the relevant organisations in advance of your trip.

Our booklet, Holidaying with Dementia. Your 10-step Approach, lets you start thinking how you can discover the freedom and joy we all know you get from travel.

Holidaying with Dementia Your 10-Step Approach

Positive Risk Taking

If you or a loved one are living with dementia or Alzheimer’s, you’ll know the risk of disclosing a diagnosis, where assumptions are made about your capabilities before you are considered as a person.

If you are older, you may also feel biases are made on your capabilities based on your age as well!

These assumptions can erode confidence and self belief and stop you enjoying your best life.

By taking advantage of our free Travel Advice Consultation you can investigate the positive risks you would willing to take to live your best lives through travel.

Peer Support

We know that living with dementia or an invisible disability can really impact how confident you feel about travel and hospitality. It can even make you feel like it’s more trouble than it’s worth.

That’s why we set up two peer support groups with different aims to allow you to learn and understand from your peers around experiences of travel.
